The UFL, for all intents and purposes, is entering a new era under owner Mike Repole. New teams, new rosters, and new jerseys. These new jerseys come with a change in supplier, switching away from the Under Armour gear that was previously used. This season features adidas, New Era, and NOBULL as the official league partners. Over the past few days teams have been revealing their new jerseys, and the Birmingham Stallions just showed theirs off.

The new Birmingham Stallions jerseys are a major shift from their previous iterations. Namely, the helmet and jersey colors have inverted. The former helmets were gold with a bright red jersey. Now, the home jerseys themself are gold, while the bright red has shifted to a darker, more burgundy color for the helmets.

As for the away jerseys, the differences are less noticeable. Helmet aside, the only substantial change is to the shoulders. They move away from the red and gold bars of the old style into burgundy accents at the top of the shoulder, with subtle gold highlights.

While the jerseys have finally been officially revealed, the basics of them have been known since early January when Mike Repole “leaked” the concepts for all of the new UFL jerseys. Whether this was to gauge interest, make last minute changes, or just show them off early, they don’t seem to have changed since. This applies to not only the Birmingham Stallions, but also the recently revealed jerseys for the DC Defenders, St. Louis Battlehawks, and Dallas Renegades.

The drastic style change of these new jerseys definitely mark a change in era for the Stallions. This is the first time since the team returned in 2022 that they’ll be without Skip Holtz, the head coach who brought Birmingham three championships across two leagues. That era will be fondly remembered with its red jerseys and gold helmets and winning ways. Now, it’s time for the AJ McCarron era in gold jerseys and burgundy helmets. What will this era entail? With just over a month until the season starts, only time will tell.

The Stallions will take the field in their new jerseys for the first time on March 27th, opening the season against the Louisville Kings. As for the new home jerseys, those will debut against the Orlando Storm as the Stallions play their first game in Birmingham on April 18th. Do you like the new jerseys, or do you already miss the old ones?
