The SEC continues its reign of dominance. For the first time in college baseball history, a single conference has a record 10 teams in the Top 25 rankings.
The SEC has dominated college baseball for the past 10 years, winning 7 of the past 10 NCAA Championships. If you want to get a look at the next national champion, there’s a good chance they play in Hoover this week.
This is the first year the tournament includes all conference teams. All 16 teams make the pilgrimage to the Hoover Met this week for the single elimination format. A massive change that has been well received by fans. Win or go home. Just like March Madness.
- Renovated Hoover Met
More chair back seating has been added to the Hoover Met. Twelve sections have been converted from bleachers to chair back seats with drink holders. The bleachers that do remain, now have backs to them. A massive win for fans and an important upgrade that helped Hoover secure the tournament through 2028.
- People Watching
SEC baseball fans are truly unique. Take the Vandy whistler for example.
As far as fan bases go, no fanbase is louder and more passionate than the LSU Tigers. Get ready to hear L-S-U ringing throughout the stadium.
You can’t talk about the SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover without mentioning the Feral Children of Hoover. Over time, the pack has grown, waiting to pounce on a foul ball that dares enter their domain. Best to keep your distance from these unsupervised scoundrels.

Ric Smith returns as the voice of the Hoover Met. The voice of Jordan-Hare returns to Hoover for his 18th SEC Baseball Tournament. This upcoming football season will be his 20th as the voice of Jordan-Hare.
